Giselle Romo, M.S., AMFT
Operations Manager
As a dedicated therapist and a member of the leadership team at NISD, my hope is to bring a blend of knowledge in mental health and operations management to our organization.
I earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Gender Studies from UCSD, and went on to pursue a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from SDSU, where I was first introduced to Narrative Therapy. I have been connected to the Narrative community since 2016, “officially” joining NISD as an Associate Therapist in 2021.
I serve in multiple capacities within the organization, enhancing NISD’s ability to deliver comprehensive support to our community. In my leadership role, I tend to Operations Management, ensuring that our nonprofit runs smoothly and efficiently in order to honor and serve or community. In addition to Operations, my position in HR supports a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting the well-being of our dedicated staff. Additionally, I contribute to the Triage team, connecting potential clients to therapists and resources, as well as our Education Committee, where I coordinate providing CAMFT-approved education to therapists across the globe.
In my life outside of NISD, I find joy in outdoor adventures with my dogs, being as close to bodies of water as possible, and honing my creativity through pottery classes and textile arts.
